Comprehensive Electrical and KNX Installation in a North London Eco Home
Project Overview
This project involved a full electrical and KNX installation for a modern German eco home in North London. The goal was to create an integrated system that optimises energy efficiency while providing seamless control over lighting, HVAC, and window shutters.
Key Features and Installation Components
- KNX Open Protocol Integration: The entire automation system utilises the KNX open protocol, allowing for effective communication between various components. This ensures that all systems—lighting, HVAC, and shutters—work in harmony for enhanced user experience and energy efficiency.
- Advanced Actuators: To facilitate the seamless operation of the building’s systems, we employed a combination of Jung, Zennio, MDT, and Theben actuators. This blend ensures that all aspects of the home function cohesively, responding to user inputs and environmental conditions.
- Diverse Lighting Control: The lighting system features a sophisticated mix of DALI, 0-10V, phase control, and DMX dimming technologies. This versatility allows for tailored lighting solutions throughout the home, suitable for various activities and moods.
- User-Friendly Interfaces: The front-end control is centered around Jung keypads, providing an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interface for users. These keypads allow for easy access and management of all automated systems, enhancing the overall user experience.
- Integrated AV System: The installation includes a fully integrated Savant AV system, allowing residents to control their entertainment systems alongside home automation features. This integration provides a seamless experience, where audiovisual and home management systems converge.
